Indian musicians have been buying audio interfaces designed for someone else's studio, at a price set by someone else's currency, for as long as there have been audio interfaces. The hardware is good. It was simply never built with this room in mind.
Layarav exists to close that gap: precision audio hardware, engineered without compromise, priced and supported for the people making music here — and credible anywhere.

Layarav is a made word: laya (लय), rhythm, and rāv (राव), sound — Sanskrit roots that every Indian musical tradition still speaks. We chose it because it names the two things this equipment exists to serve, and because it comes from here.

The Raag Series
A framework, not a product name.
A raag is not a song. It is the set of notes and rules a musician builds a performance inside — the structure that makes the music possible.
That is precisely what we ask of our hardware, so that is what the line is called. The Raag Series is a shared standard: conversion quality, build quality, published specifications, warranty and support that every Layarav instrument is held to, whatever it costs.
The series begins with the R4 — a 4-in / 4-out USB-C interface with ADAT expansion, chosen as the first product because it solves the most common wall in Indian home studios: two inputs, when the music has four musicians. It will not be the last.

Priced in rupees, not converted into them
Most audio hardware reaches India carrying freight, duty and a distributor margin decided elsewhere. We set our price for this market first.

We compete on hardware
Not on the licences in the box, not on a heritage we did not earn. The money goes into I/O, conversion and metal — the parts you cannot download later.

Every number is published
Dynamic range, noise, headroom, impedances — in the specification table, where you can hold them against anyone else’s. A spec we will not print is a spec we do not claim.

Every unit is in the register
Each product carries a serial we track from batch to buyer. If a serial is not in our register, it did not come from us — and we will tell you so before you buy it.

3 years, stated up front
The warranty is on the product page, the warranty page and the card in the box — not buried in a PDF. Claims are handled in India, by people in your time zone.
The honest version of our story.
We are a young company, and we will not pretend otherwise — there is no wall of awards here, and no invented founding legend. What there is: an instrument we specified without compromise, a register with every serial in it, a 3-year warranty we put in writing, and a support inbox read by the people accountable for both.
Everything else — the reviews, the records made on this hardware, the rest of the Raag Series — has to be earned. We intend to earn it.
